About this policy

This policy describes how the current Android version of NFC Tag Studio handles information when you read compatible NFC tags, write text or website links, and organize tag information.

Information accessed and stored

When you start a scan, the app accesses the NFC tag information exposed by your device. This may include the tag identifier, supported technologies, NDEF availability, write state, capacity, record content, and technical record details. Record content may include text, website addresses, or raw payload information. The app records the scan date and time and automatically saves successful scans in local history.

The app also processes text and website addresses you enter in the writer. When you save templates, it stores their names, content, record types, and timestamps. When you save tag snapshots, it stores the scan information together with your labels and notes. Your reduce-motion preference is also stored locally.

Tag content and information you enter may contain personal information, depending on what you scan or save. The app does not require an account.

Purposes of use

The app uses this information to display tag details, maintain scan history, organize saved snapshots, reuse templates, preview encoded record sizes, and write and verify supported NDEF records. Preferences are used to apply your chosen display behavior.

Writing to physical tags

Writing sends the text or website address you selected to the physical NFC tag and replaces its existing NDEF content. Information written to a tag may be readable by other people with compatible equipment. Removing information from the app does not remove it from a physical tag. Labels and notes added to saved snapshots are stored in the app and do not change the physical tag.

Collection, network access, and advertising

The inspected application processes and stores its functional data on your device. It does not implement developer-operated uploads, cloud synchronization, analytics, advertising, tracking, or remote crash reporting. No advertising or analytics SDKs were identified in the inspected dependencies.

The Android manifest declares Internet permission, but the active app features inspected do not use it to transmit your tag information or saved content. Reading, displaying, or writing a website address does not automatically open that website.

Sharing and third-party software

The app does not automatically share your local information with the developer or third parties. If you choose Export information for a saved tag, it passes a text export to the Android sharing interface so you can select a receiving app. The export includes the label, notes, scan timestamp, tag identifier, technologies, write state, capacity, record content, and technical record details.

The receiving app or service handles the exported information under its own privacy practices. It may transmit or retain the information. Review the content before sharing it.

The app uses Android NFC and sharing services, along with AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin libraries for its operation. No third-party data-collection service was identified in the inspected implementation.

Storage and security

On Android, saved information is stored in app-private SharedPreferences. The application disables Android backup through its manifest. The inspected storage implementation does not add app-level encryption to saved records.

The app does not implement network transmission of your stored content, so encryption in transit is not part of its local storage workflow. Any transmission through an app you select for sharing depends on that app or service.

Unexpected NFC errors may be written to Android system logs. The inspected code does not upload those logs to the developer. No storage or security measure can guarantee complete protection.

Retention and deletion

History, templates, saved snapshots, and preferences remain locally until you remove them or clear the app's storage. The app does not implement automatic expiration of saved records.

You can delete individual history entries, templates, and saved tags from the Library. Settings also provides separate controls to clear scan history, saved tags, and templates. History and saved snapshots are separate copies; deleting one does not automatically delete the other. Clearing the app's storage through Android settings or uninstalling the app removes its local app data.

These actions do not erase physical tags or copies already exported to another app or person. Those copies must be managed separately.

For privacy or deletion questions, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The current app does not provide a server-side deletion request feature, and the developer cannot remotely delete records stored only on your device.

Children's privacy

NFC Tag Studio is a general-purpose NFC utility. A specific intended age range has not been established in the available information. The current implementation does not include accounts, age collection, advertising, or developer-operated collection of children's personal information. Information entered by any user is handled through the local storage and optional sharing features described above.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the app's features or information-handling practices change. Future versions of the policy should describe the practices applicable to the updated app.
